Moorland Holiday Cottages are set in the heart of the picturesque village of Hutton-le-Hole, North Yorkshire, and situated on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park. The village is famous for its meandering stream, old stone cottages and the expanse of common land that is kept well groomed by the resident sheep. The village is home to the very popular Ryedale Folk Museum, tearooms, craft shops, gift shops and its very own Chocolate Factory. The well-established village pub ‘The Crown’ provides a warm welcome with a menu of hearty home cooked food. Superbly situated for exploring the ‘Moors’ and the nearby market towns of Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley. The North Yorkshire coastal towns of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey are approximately 45 minutes drive and the historic city of York with the Minster, National Rail Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre less than an hour away. The North York Moors Railway in Pickering runs throughout the year but has a very limited service between January and March. If you plan to take a trip on the railway you are advised to check availability and running times as you may need to book. Flamingo Land Theme Park is only a 15 minutes drive. Hutton-Le-Hole is situated a mere 20 minute drive away from a particular establishment that is everybody's target for a superb meal out - the inimitable Star Inn, at Harome, near Helmsley. This idyllic village pub, with its thatched roof, has won awards galore (including a Michelin Star) for its cuisine. It would be a pity not to take a trip to Harome, and call at the Star Inn ....... at least, not only would you enjoy your visit to the hilt, but you would then be able to tell your friends and family that you've actually been there! Without being specific, our lovely little North Yorkshire village is situated at the very centre of what country life is all about, whether you are a fan of Devonshire, Sussex, or whichever county you like the look of.
